| Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) |
In an effort to keep it as real as it gets, the Canadian Xpress® SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) was written to help company pilots operate their flights as close to real life as possible.
There are a several reasons why companies have SOPs including ensuring that all the pilots operate company aircraft safely, and efficiently. Also when a pilot flies with another pilot for the first time they will know what the other one will say and do during different phases of flight so there is no confusion on the flight deck during the critical phases of flight.
An SOP can cover every day flying as well as emergency procedures. In most cases an SOP is written specifically for each type of aircraft, however each SOP has the same basic guide lines and is written in the same fashion. This SOP is simply a guide line, and is not specific to any type of aircraft, but can be applied to any of our aircraft. There will be a few small differences from the turbo prop and jets and will be indicated in the procedures.
