Flight Planning Tutorial
This document is intended for all Canadian Xpress® pilots who are new to flight planning. Flying on the VATSIM or IVAO network requires that you file a flight plan. A flight plan is a predetermined route that makes sure you know how to get from point A to B, but also tells ATC what route you will be taking.

Focus will be on IFR flying and determining a flight plan. A small bit of theory will be provided, but the bulk of the document focuses on three example routes. The examples include a route in North America, a route in Europe and a transatlantic route (as this requires some additional skills). Another focus point is how to program the standard FS GPS to follow the planned route.
